Single VLAN Issue - ESXi 4.1 host

Hello Forum,

We have a vsphere 4.1 Cluster with  5 ESXi 4.1 hosts. For one of the host single VLAN is not working as VMs on that host are not able to communicate with network. However, when we migrate VMs to other hosts its working.

It would be great, if anyone has a solution for this issue.

Thank you.

Please provide some more details (e.g. virtual and physical network configuration). From what you say, I would guess that there's an issue with the physical switch port configuration!?

Hi,

what is the different between the four host who the vlan is working well and the one who has the problems?

Did you check your physical switch configuration? Is the vlan configured for the ports and / or switch on where the network cable is plug in?

Did you configure your vSwitch with the correct port group an vlan tag?

Hi Frank,

Port group label, tagging are identical on all 5 hosts.

There must be something different between the network configuration.

doublecheck your physical environment with your networking team.

Please post some pictures of a working host network intrastructure and the host that have the problems (Port group, VLAN, IP etc).
