Should the VM be shutdown for hyperthreaded core sharing setting to take effect?

Hi All,

I had a query about the HT core sharing setting for a VM?

Does it need a cold restart of the VM for setting to take effect?

Or does it take effect during runtime?

Same query for CPU core affinity for the VM?

I did not find this mentioned in anywhere in the docs of vSphere.

Please clarify.

Ok got it in the vsphere client help.

It says "To configure advanced CPU resources, the virtual machine  must be powered off."
