Should I run sysprep before converting VM to Template?

Hi,

We are using ESXi 5.5 and preparing Windows 7 x64 Template.  I have already changed power options / maximize performance / disk clean up.  The Windows 7 x64 machine hasn't been joined to domain.  Steps follow fellow's post

How to build a Windows 7 VMware Template | Notes from MWhite

Should we run sysprep before converting the VM to Template OR it should be a step in Customization ?

Thanks

Sysprep will run automatically when the new VM is cloned from the template. You don't have to run Sysprep specially on your template. When Deploying the New VM from the Template, during the final step, Select the Guest Customization specification which was created and that should take care of the rest.
