Should I enable HT in ESX4.1 Host ?

We are running ESX 4.1 Hosts with Intel Xeon CPU - 2 sockets and 4 cores per socket.  All VM are with only 1 vCPU (except 2 are running 2 vCPU).

We just get a Health Check report and the consultant suggests enabling HT.  Is there any potential benefit or disadvantage of getting it enabled ?

Thanks

There is a huge benefit - by enabling HT you are providing more Logical CPUs that the vmkernel can schedule vCPUs on - allowing for a higher density of virtual machines -
