Hi All,
I've got a 10 GB LUN (RDM) that i've formatted in VM-A as NTFS, I'd like to share this RDM with VM-B (same windows)
but i'm not quite sure how to do it. Is this a supported scenario ?
this is just for file sharing in case either VM is OFF.
Thanks
Kind Regards,

Its not a vmware limitiation...its a Windows operating system limitation...it will put locks on the disks and corrupt them...
You will need Micrsooft Cluster Services...
Just like in the physical world you will need to setup MSCS in order for 2 VM's to read from the same RDM LUN as file locking and initialization will corrupt it once the second node is added...
Thanks for the reply,
The VM that I'm now using is just Windows Server 2003 Standard 64 bit ;-| so, by using normal method through vSphere Client
this is not possible ? even with Physical or Virtual ?

Thanks for the clarification, now everything is clear

Not necessarily MSCS...there are other cluster filesystems out there - StorNext, SAN-FS, Melio, etc.
