I've got an OS X guest VM running on ESXi 5.1, running on an Xserve.
When I execute an "ls -l /Volumes" command, I get:
ls -l /Volumes/
ls: VMware Shared Folders: Input/output error
total 8
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 1 Jun 20 06:03 OSX -> /
Obviously, there are some remnants of Shared Folders that are causing this problem. I have noticed when I log into the desktop on an OS X VM, the Shared Folders directory shows up for a second, then disappears.
So, does anyone know how to permanently disable the Shared Folders function of VMWare Tools somehow? There's no switch for it in ESXi, as I believe ESXi doesn't support it.
