Server compatibility

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a Dell SC1430 server, and I'm wondering whether it is going to be fully compatible with ESX 4. I've checked the HCL and it isn't on there but I'm not too worried about that and am just wondering if anyone has got ESX 4 running on that hardware, or knows of someone who has.

The spec of the server is:

Dell Poweredge SC1430 Tower Server

Intel Xeon Processors 1.60Ghz / 4M / 1066 Dual Core 5110

2GB (2x1GB)ECC

2x 160GB SATA Hard Drives

DVD

Thanks for your help

Adam

you may want to check http://www.vm-help.com//esx40i/esx40_whitebox_HCL.php and see if anyone has your configuration running.

The SC1430 is an older server. You might want to look at the PowerEdge T110.

It is on the HCL for ESX 4.0 and ESXi 4.0, and is not that expensive. You can pick one up with a Xeon 3430 processor and 4GB of RAM (single 160GB drive) for less than $500 US.

How much is the SC1430?
