Secondary Local SATA Disk Datastore Losing Connectivity

Hi VMware Champs,

I have ESXi 5.1 running on a 250 GB HDD (VMFS5), I added another 500 GB SATA disk to extend local storage. My first Datastore is intact. I successfully formatted the new 500 Gb disk with VMFS5 and added it in Storage as "datastore2".

Problem: Whenever I reboot the Server or try to put some data in datastore2 it goes off the list.

Datastores details

I tried to move data from datastore1 to datastore2 and it failed. below are the latest logs.

Hard to tell you what exactly is causing this issue. Assuming this is a whitebox and the disk controller is not on the supported list, it might be worth checking the host's BIOS to see which options are available in regards of HDD access mode.

Today I changed the SATA port for disk on mother board, and this is happening. I have no idea what's going on. Not VM guy really, just trying to use evaluation on Intel i5 - 16 gb ram to practice netbackup.

A vmkcore disk partition is available and/or a network coredump server has

been configured.  Host core dumps will be saved.
