Scan Luns in a VM(masked to NPIV WWPN's) without RDM

Hi,

I've a ESX 5.5 server, where a VM is NPIV enabled. I've masked a LUN from my storage array to the VM's WWPN(generated via NPIV).

Is it possible to scan the newly masked LUN's without performing RDM from vSphere client?

Any help is much appreciated. We need it for openstack deployment, where FC LUNs masked to Cinder node are accessed inside a VM. Performing RDM is a manual step which is not feasible for us.

Regards,

Aashish

I'm afraid RDM is a requirement for NPIV: Requirements for Using NPIV

Besides that you will need to mask the LUN to any ESXi host where the VM could potentially reside as a result of either vMotion or HA failover, basically any host in your cluster.
