SVMotion is stuck @ 39%

Hi All,

I initiated SVMotion in the same Host >> Datastore changed >> and the process is stuck @ 39% from last 1 hour.

It gives me an option to cancel it. The VM is responding to ping and RDP. ESX Host is running on 4.0U1.

Any suggestions what should I do ?

It just completed .....

Can I checked where it is stuck or I face these issues in future then what should I do

From my experience, if the S/Vmotion fails at starting of say 18% or 14%, then there is something fishy at the source side. If it is getting stuck at 80% or something, then its the destination to be checked.

In your case, you might want to look at the vmkernel.log to find out where the trouble was.

I am suspecting that it could be the ESXi is serving the VMs that is being moved and lots of swapping is happening.
