After I've installed vmware vCenter Log Insight on our vSphere datacenter, I've seen these error messages from every host about every 5 minutes:
2014-03-13T10:55:02.302Z hostname.domain.local hostd-probe: [FFE91B70 warning 'Libs'] SSL_VerifyCbHelper: Certificate verification is disabled, so connection will proceed despite the error
Do anybody have any idea what does this mean? It looks everything works fine, but the LogInsight is full with these annoing error messages.
The VCenter server is 5.5.0b (1476327), ESXi hosts are 5.5.0 (1474528)
I've enabled "vCenter Server requires verified SSL certificates", changed every sll certificates with ssl tool to CA signed certs, changed every ESXi host certificate by hand to CA signerd certs.
Where and what should I enable to get rid of these error messages? Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Thomas
If you're only receiving 20 errors per hour, consider yourself lucky. I'm seeing 1944/hour.
Have you found an answer?
Unfortunately no. I don't find where can I enable that SSL verification which causes these error messages
Thanks for the reply.
I see the same thing on ESX 5.1. No solution?
Have the same issue seen in Log Insight.
Here is what I found:
Known issue in 5.1 (and I am assuming 5.5 since multiple of us have these errors)
Not the greatest answer, but at least we know VM knows about it.
