SNMP on ESXi4.1?

I know that SNMP is a feature that we can enable in the standard host version of ESX4.1 but is it available in the ESXi4.1 version?

Yes, an SNMP agent is included in ESXi 4.x too. You have to configure SNMP remotely via vicfg-snmp(.pl) from the vMA or through the vSphere CLI though.

Yes it is. Here are some details about the SNMP agent on ESXi:

•SNMP agent embedded in hostd

•Can send traps and receive polling requests such as GET

•By default disabled

•Not supported on Free Hypervisor Edition

•SNMP v1 and v2 only

You need to enable it using vCLI ( http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vcli/).

(Though the demo is for ESXi 5, but the process will be same for ESXi 4.1).
