SNMP Monitoring and OID's

Anyone having any luck with this? I have read a lot on this topic and you see some say it can't be done and others say it can.

I can do an snmp walk of my VM server and get some results but they look really basic. Like basic specs of my hosts. I am looking to see host usage, system usage, etc.

Sorry, thats not covered in the VMware SNMP implementation.

The 'right' way to get this information from a ESX host is to use the vSphere APIs.

Well at least you have a definitive answer Smiley Happy

Any recommendations on that? I have seen some emails from Solarwinds. I don't know what else is out there but I will start looking.

nope, the main use of SNMP with vSphere (at least how VMware sees it) is SNMP traps.
