SLOW DATA TRANSFER

Hello.

I have a problem with a slow system thus formed:

Hardware:

n° 1 IBM Bladecenter H

n° 6 IBM HS23 6Cpu cores x 2,6 Ghz 40 Gb Ram

n° 1 IBM Storage DS3950

n° 2 Brocade 8Gb Fibre channel Switch

n° 2 BNT layer 2/3 copper gigabit Ethernet switch

Software:

n° 6 Vmware ESXi 5.5.0.2068190

The System has different virtual machine (Windows, Linux).
Problem:
When I try to transfer data between the virtual machine transfer is slow 8-9 Mbit / s.
This is normal ? You may depend on what?
Can you help me understand?

Check this scenario:

  1. Add a virtual switch without up-link
  2. Create a port group on that
  3. Change your machines network label to the virtual switch port group
  4. Add another IP in a same range to both machines
  5. Then try to check transfer, if there was problem, so you should check your guest OS configuration.

Otherwise check your uplinks on physical switch and also upgrade your nic driver on ESXi and change parameters with consider about recommendations.

Thank you ! Solved!

I followed the instructions and now the transfer between VM is 120-130 Mbits / s.

There remains the problem of physical machine HS23 (or other physical machine in the network) and VM.

How can I fix the problem ?

I think, you need to check your physical switches and cables.

It seems, there is some miss-configuration on physical layer or hardware problem.
