SCSI Megaraid

Hi

ESXi 5.0.0 and SCSI controller MegaRAID (I have tryed another Qlogic, Adaptec) and it works. But I have tape drive DAT72. Can I use it iside virtual machine? Linux or any Windows? Now ESXi can see my MegaRAID but no devices - no tape drive. What to do?

Hello,

First step you need check if is compatible with HCL www.vmware.com/go/hcl

Successfully installed IBM LSI LSA0610 64bit SCSI controller in PCI33 Smiley Happy and Tape Drive HP DAT72 - VMware ESXi 5.0 can use this equipment in virtual machiones. thx!

yes you can use tape drive inside vmware , but make sure that hardware should support .

OK it's working DAT72 and an old DAT (20GB tapes - DDS4) on this LSI controller.
