Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has played around with the NMP a little more.
There is two options for the VNX2 if you are not using power path.
One option is:
VMW_SATP_DEFAULT_AA — Generic for active/active arrays
PSP - Round Robbin
As the EMC VNX2 recommends round robin be used with the new multi core technology: VNX MCx
Another option is:
MW_SATP_ALUA_CX
PSP - Round Robin
However the new VNX2 doesn't use ALUA per say, it uses that new Multi core technology which a locking mechanism instead of the old ownership method.

See Page 62
With this I would side with the Default_AA SATP over the ALUA_CX one, however EMC doesn't really take a stance on it.
Has anyone tested performance numbers with this yet? If you are using your LUNS in a Classic setup and not with pools which SATP would be best with this new VNX MCx setup.
Let me know,
Thanks.
Anyone wondering its the ALUA_CX SATP
I did find this, but it doesn't state how it effects the new MCx locking Active/Active system:
