Running Chkdsk on a vmware host

Hello,

I have a Windows Server 2008 server running above esx4. I began noticing bad disk errors in the event logs.

I verified that the disk was local. (we currently do not run an external disks in this environment)

I successfully ran a chkdsk after a reboot and the .txt file confirmed that there were bad sectors.

I had heard that chkdsk and bad disk alerts may not be trustworthy in a vmware environment so I wanted to post here to ensure that it is possible that this bad disk process within vmware is the same as in a non vmware environment.

Thank you.
