Run Vpshere client from a VM on the host?

Is it possible to run the vsphere client from a VM that is on the host that is to be managed?

If I connect to a VM that is on the host and I go to the management IP of the host from the browser; it reports the page cannot be displayed.  Is there a way to make this work?

Yes.

How is the networking configured on this VM? You will need to have it connected to a vSwitch that has access to the host's management address.

I initially had the host on a separate vswitch which I figured was possibly causing the issue, but I have since moved the VM to the same vswitch as the management network.

Nothing special with the networking that I can tell.  I can ping the management host address from the VM.  Thinking it is issue with the VM OS.

Ok, it  was an issue with the OS browser.  Updated browser and all is good.
