Hello,

I would install ESXi on my HP server, but i have problem when i want to install it.

I have this problem :

Hardware configuration :

Processor : Intel Xeon

RAM : 4GB

Hard disk : 3 SAS to 72GB.

I tried to install it with usb flash drive of 4GB.

I tried to change usb flash drive with 8GB, and same problem, and I tried to use this VMware KB: ESXi 5.x installation fails with the error: Device path name is not a valid absolute or r...and no more result.

Currently there is Windows Server 2003 on this server.

Thank you by advance.

I already try to install ESXi 5.0 U3 customised, ESXi 5.0 U3 basic, and ESXi 5.1. No one works.

Check what controller of disk this server uses, then download a drive listed on HCL and try to create a customized image.
