Restoring virtual from raw file backup.

So this may be a n00b question. I backed up all the files from one of my virtuals while it was powered off. Is it possible to import those files back into an ESXi4 host?

Assuming you copied the vmdk files etc. from an ESXi installation you can simply open the datastore browser, (double click the datastore) browse to the location of the copied files and upload. You will need to Add to inventory from the datastore browser.

If only all our problems were so easy. You can use the converter tool from the downloads area to hot copy a VM.
