Restore failed: fault.InvalidBundle.summary

Hi,

I wanted to restore my configuration which was backed up by vicfg-cfgbackup (made on 4.1U1 ) to my new 4.1U3 and it gives me

Restore failed: fault.InvalidBundle.summary

Is there any other way except reconfiguring manually the host from the scratch?

Hey Martin,

This comes up as the bundle version or patch version of the hosts are different.

Easiest way to get over this:

  1. Install the same version of ESXi the backup was taken from
  2. Use the restore file to restore the settings
  3. Use Update Manager to update the host to the latest build

Thanks, but it couldn't be done because the new server's HW was not supported in the old version 4.1u1. I reconfigured it from scratch..
