Restarted Host - Lost LUN - iSCSI is mounted

Hello all.

Today we relocated our ESX 5 host therefore powering down the server. When the Host was turned back on the iSCSI Target we use was not listed. After some searching around the following KB resolved this issue.

VMware KB: Software iSCSI LUNs disappear after rebooting or upgrading the ESX/ESXi host

The Target is now listed and mounted

but now the problem is when i go to "Storage" the LUN is not listed. If I go to "Add Storage" I am told all data on the LUN will be formatted which I dont want.

Im assuming the issue is with the host IQN number changing? But to be honest im unsure. I have been searching the net for a while for an answer to no avail. hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

When I access "Add Storage" I think i'm suppose to get VMFS Mount Options page, but this page does not appear. It acts as though its a new configuration.

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks in advance

My iscsi does this on every boot ...

from the esxi shell:

# esxcfg-volume -l

VMFS UUID/label: 52c21c2c-3de912c9-0c76-00101828806a/iSCSI

Can mount: Yes

Can resignature: No (the volume is being actively used)

Extent name: eui.22cd000155a3fe57:1    range: 0 - 6675455 (MB)

# esxcfg-volume -m 52c21c2c-3de912c9-0c76-00101828806a

Mounting volume 52c21c2c-3de912c9-0c76-00101828806a

This will only work if you got the "Can mount: Yes".
