Removing orphaned snapshots from failed backup

ARCserve backup software is failing while trying to backup VMs and leaving behind snapshots that don't get removed. I'm working with CA (ARCserve) to resolve the backup issues.

I have some VMs that need consolidation and some that don't. Can I just do a 'Delete All' snapshots on these VMs or should I consolidate those that need it, first?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jim,

Both delete and consolidate would remove the snapshots ie the redo logs and commit the data to the base disk ( VMDK ). I would prefer to have the VM's powered on and then go with a consolidate,

since we cannot estimate the time frame on when it may get completed.

Thanks,
Avinash
