Remove dead/error storage devices

Hi,

Just wondering if there is a way to remove dead/error storage devices (which haven't been detached prior to the storage system going offline) without rebooting the host?

Did you try to unmount  them and remove from your farm?

I removed a datastore that way, but these used to be RDMs, so there is no 'unmount' option as far as I know.

This command instructs the host to rescan a specific hba and clear any paths which are showing as dead:

esxcfg-rescan -d vmhba#
