Reducing the disk size of thin provisioned VMDK

Hi,

We have a 1 TB disk in our vSphere environment which is with its application is consuming not more 512 Gb of disk space. In order to free up the disk space , we have decided to use Vmware converter to do a V2V replication . Can anyone please guide me the steps to reduce the disk size in VMware converter so that it does not affect my production environment in any case. Also, to understand further Vmware converter is the same as Vmware Vcenter standalone converter. Please guide me so that i can do the needful.

Thanks and regards

Nikhil
