I created a new VM using an OVF and during that process I increated the partition size of the disk from 125GB to 400GB thin provisioned. Once the CentOS Linux system booted up it only recognized the original disk space. The vendor indicated they wanted a seperate disk for the data so I created another hard drive with 500GB of space but I would like to reclaim the unused portion of the original disk. I tired to shut down the guest and set the partition size in vSphere but it seems to only allow you to increase the size not decrease the size. I also thought there was a command line that would do it but I cannot seem to find it now. My other option is to use vCenter Converter and see if it would let me resize the hard disk.
Does anyone have a good way of resizing a thin provisioned hard disk.
