We are running vSphere 6.5.
I logged into vCenter today and went to the cluster level.
Typically I am at the VMs and Templates level.
Next to an ESXi Server in the cluster, i see a the following
ESXi (reboot required)
I spoke to some Admins and they stated no patches were applied.
Any idea what may have been done on the ESXi host that would cause a request for reboot?
Are there any files to check?
thanks
I remember a similar issue, which occurred in the past with older vSphere Replication versions (see https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2114801).
Likely not the issue you have, but maybe a hint to what you may want to look for.

In the past... if you enable/switch IPv6 within WebClient the Host is marked for a reboot to take the changes active. If you do the same in the DCUI the Host reboots immediately after you accept the changes.
Cant remember to other config changes which marks the Host for reboot. (Applying patches from command line maybe)

Does your environment use host profiles / auto deploy?
Changes (vibs) being applied can result in this message popping up.
