Re-install ESXi 7 from SD to HDD

Hello everyone,

our infra is hosted on HPE C7000 blade system - bl460c gen9 and gen10.
We have ESXi7 servers installed on single SD card and we want to move to HDD according to VMware recommendation.

So, we installed single HDD (we don't need redundancy) in every blade and here is a question:

How to configure this one HDD? Which RAID setup? What configuration will be perfect for ESXi 7 and future versions?
Every tip and recommendation will be appreciated.

Regards,
Przemek

Hey @venithib ,

If you have only one HDD, there is no RAID. In order to set up a RAID 0 array, you would need two or more disks, hence I am not too sure what are you asking for.

Unless I'm mistaken, you can create a RAID0 with a single disk with HPE's SmartArray controllers.
