Rainbow SafeNet Sentinel run with Vsphere 4.1

Hi all,

I've managed installed and detected Rainbow SafeNet Sentinel in Vsphere 4.1. My application team has no problem to install the license file.

On the USB device, I've ticked the option "with VMotion"

Anyone here experience  about it? Is that working fine without running any third party software/hardware?

My concern here is when the ESX A down, the Rainbow SafeNet Sentinel may not working fine in ESX B

When the host with the USB device was down you would not have access to the device on the other host. I also believe that if the VM is restarted it will also loose access to the USB device attached to another host. I would look for a network attached USB hub. SILEX, AnywhereUSB, Belkin and others make such devices. SInce they are on the network rather than attached to a physical host it doesn't matter if the host or the VM are restarted.

If there's the situationn, just curious why the “USB device” has the "VMotion" option :smileyconfused:
