RHEV to VMware migration

Hi,

I'm inheriting a site that is currently running Red Hat Enterprise Visualization (RHEV).

In there they are running a mix of Novell OES, Ubuntu and Windows Server.

I will be moving them to VMware (a new set of servers and SAN) and will want to move the existing VMs from RHEV to VMware.

Does anyone know of any guides or other documentation that covers this particular scenario?

Does anyone have a recommended way(s) to do this?

I am able to stop the servers during the process if that makes a difference.

If i picked the wrong forum for this question, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Ian

I once made a post how we did it in our company, have a look maybe useful. Convert Linux KVM machines to VMware ESXi5.x

Make sure to do some test first to see if everything works fine. At our place it went pretty flawlessly

Thanks for the reply,

I'll have a read and see if i can understand it, the steps look more complex than i was hoping for but if that's the way to do it then i don't have a choice.

You could try to use the VMware converter tool to move it to VMware. Back then I had some problems on the linux machines because the disks were not recognized which caused be to find that other workaround.

Maybe you're lucky and you can convert all machines with converter
