RDM missing after reboot.

Hi All,

Due to some hardware migration, We had shutdown (in maintanance mode) all our ESXi-5.1 host's and their VM's (Configured with RDM). Hence after migrating the hardware we had powered on all the ESXi host's.

So here the problem starts when we try to power on the VM(Linux OS) which mapped with RDM its throwing error that Lun mapped from storage is missing and we cant power on that VM-Machine. So for solving this issue we followed some steps,

We had removed the RDM(Hardisk-2) from the VM and sucessfully powered on the Vmachine.  But after this when we try to map the RDM manually from the Vcenter, the RDM option for the VM machine is seems to be "grey-out".

LUN which is mapped is visible to that ESXi but we cant able to map. We had rescaned all, detached and attached the LUN but still RDM option is grey-out and hence we cant able to do RDM for that VM.

Can any one please guide us to get this problem solved..........!!!

Thanks in advance...!!

Regards,

Subash.

When your storage came back up did you need to resignature the disks?
