RAM usage after upgrading to ESXi 5.1 U1

Dear community,

last week I was upgrading a vSphere Essentials Plus Environment with two Hosts (IBM x3650 M3) from 5.0 to 5.1 U1. The update works very well and no error occurs. Before updating the RAM usage from every host was about 50%.

After updating we recognize that die RAM usage increase to 75% per host.

Did anybody know something about this reason? I updated the Hosts via vSphere Update Manager. I think it could be something with large pages oder transparant page sharing but i don´t know exactly.

Is that consistent ? check the host memory usage on all the virtual machines and check if that is at par with the host. May be your virtual machines uses more memory which might have caused that.
