I am new and trying the VMWare for the fist time but I cannot open the VSphere 5.1 on my Windows 8.1 operating System. Please I need help

Welcome to the Community,

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for. Are you trying to install ESXi on Windows 8? That won't work, because ESXi is an operating system which has to be installed on the hardware itself or - for testing purposes - in a virtual machine (e.g in VMware Workstation).

If you are planning to test vSphere on Windows then you need to install VMware workstation and on top of it you can the vSphere setup.
