Question about Ubuntu VMware Tools (re: OSP packages)

I'm reading the VMware Operating System Specific Packages Guide for ESXi 5.0 and I'm a little confused.

I'm running Ubuntu guest operating systems (Lucid, Maverick, and Natty).  The OSP guide says to install the package "vmware-tools-esx-kmods-kernel_release" (ie. vmware-tools-esx-kmods-generic) but this doesn't exist for ESXi 5.0.

Do I need to manually all nine kernel modules?  (vmmemctl, vmci, vsock, vmblock, vmxnet3, pvscsi, vmxnet, vmhgfs, and vmsync)

Also, why do a lot of these modules not exist for ESXi 4.1?  Are they new?

Install kmod and then use the below command to install rest of the components.

$ sudo apt-get install vmware-tools-esx
