Folks, I followed the steps described in this link below and it seems to do the backup successfully as it created .gz file with compression. However, I am wondering should I power off the virtual machine prior doing the backup? So far, I did the backup while the virtual machines are powered on and not sure if that would have any problems with the backup image as I have yet tried to restore it.
Any good suggestion. I still need to find a way to retore the gz file as a test.
