Hello ianeme,

I was browsing the forums and came across your issue. Wondering if you have resolved your port problem when using OneCommand Manager plug-in for vCenter Server? I saw that HP's has two downloads for fw updates. Right now the latest FW update for CN1000E is 4.0.493.0 Mar 12 2012. Call Emulex support if you are encountering problems when you try to update the fw with either the Emulex OneCommand Manager application or the plug-in. But just make sure you are HP tested and approved FW by downloading the files from thier site.

Thanks

Alex

Not recent issue, but I just came across it too, with vSphere 5.1.

I couldn't find the reason. I suspect it's due to the ports used by OCM, but I can't be sure. I finally chose to use the bootable CD to update the firmware. Worked like a charm.
