Problem copying VM's

I have 3 equal new servers Asus RS700-E6-RS4, with 24GB of memory and 2 SAS disks of 300GB (FUJITSU 15000RPM) connected with a PIKE 1068E interface (not in RAID).

I've installed ESX 4.0 Update 1 in the 3 servers. I've installed vCenter 4.0 in a VM in one of the servers. In that VM also installed DNS server and configured all hosts. My servers all have this server defined as primary dns server.

I have a serie of problems, maybe related (or not):

When i try to copy a vm using the console I get io error

When i try to copy iso files to the servers using Veem FastSCP i get errors

When i try to clone or migrate a vm to another server I get file error (sometimes inside the same server)

I would apreciate any help....

Best regards

José Matos

Welcome to the forums - what error do you receive? is it the same for all situations?

All errors described, are obtained with powered off VM's.

When cloning, migrating or cloning to template, I get the message: "Error caused by file vm_name/vdisk_filename.vmdk".

How were the vms created? Can you power on the VM?

I get this error when try to copy iso files to ESX folder inside vmfs, using Bitvise Tunnelier SFTP (same as using FastSCP or WinSCP)

I've connected a SATA hard disk in the same controller and it works fine... I'm able to copy the isos without any problem... (And i think that I will be able to clone and clone to template)

Seams to be a problem with the SAS hard disks ( HD FUJITSU 3,5" 300GB SAS-D 15000 MBA3300RC )

All the hard disks are connected to a PIKE 1068E.

Any ideas ?
