we habe a physical HP DL 585 G6 server with SQL 2005 DB.
My ESX farm with 4x HP DL 585 G6, latest ESX 4 version & patch & latest HP firmware. On the ESX runs different Windows Server 2008 clients with a SQL connection to the physical server. SQL & ESX server have a broadcom NIC (NC371i). On this chipset is ToE allready activated. I must deactivation this feature on ESX. On windows is it no problem but can I deaktivate ToE on ESX ? I have find this syntax (ethtool -K vmnicXX tso off) but it is for TSO and on my vm NICs this error comes "Cannot set device tcp segmentation offload settings: Funktion not implemented".
We have great SQL connection problems only on VMs all other machine are ToE disabled. Thanks for you help.
