Preferred ESX Host for a particular VM ?

One ESX Host (Out of 3) in a cluster has one more physical NIC.

We would like to place a particular VM on that ESX Host.  Is there any way to assign that VM to that particular host ?  Needless to say, if there is any power outage and that VM is powered up on another ESX Host, we will migrate it back manually.

Your advice is sought.

Thanks

With vSphere 4.1 you have host affinity.

Otherwise there are other trick, like connect a local iso file...

But some trick may broke vMotion and/or HA.

As Andre said, there is new functionality in vSphere.

You can set VM to prefer this particular host to run on (but still be able to move VM to another host), or set particular host as the only available for this VM.

Check out Frank's blog post, very good and detailed explanation on the VM to hosts rules
