Have requirement to shutdown the ESXi Host OS but it should not turn off the Server off as we have a card with it's own kernel which we want to keep running even if the OS is shutdown.
I have tried the following and it did not help
1. Vsphere - Server --> poweroff
2. Vsphere Server --> maintenance mode --> power off
3. esxcli system shutdown poweroff (after putting in maintenance mode)
4. /sbin/poweroff ; /sbin/halt
5. /sbin/halt
