Possible to get MagicJack working through ESXi host?

I have ESXi 5 installed and would like to pass a MagicJack through to a guest - however due to it's bizarre configuration it registers as a usb storage device.  Is it possible to pass this through to a guest?

I found this article here:

http://blog.peacon.co.uk/wiki/ESXi_4.1_USB_Passthrough_Non-Working_Devices

It's for ESX v4.1 but it indicates that such devices can be passed through if usb-storage is unloaded.  I can't unload it on my end (comes back saying Busy) and I assume it's because ESX is installed to a USB device.  Before I go through reinstalling locally does anyone know if this will actually work?

Alternately is there any way to instruct the usb-storage driver to ignore this particular device?

Anyone have any clue about the usb storage device?

I recently put an SSD in the system for primary VM storage - is it easy to move the configuration from the USB key to the internal SSD?
