Hi,
I got a brand new Windows 2012 Terminal Server installed.
But my users are complaining about slow preformance, every thing is slow.
Specs:
8 Virtual Sockets
2 Cores per Socket
16 Cores total.
12GB mem
The host have a CPU that can handle 16 Cores x 2,4GHz and 32GB of mem.
I did some tweaking in Windows 2012 but i'm not getting it faster.
What is the network speed?
Do you see any performance issues on the OS? task manager showing anything interesting?
Have you determined what is slow? Is it the connection? Is it writing to the disk? I think running Perfmon inside the servers will help nail that down. Also, are you giving the VM the same amount of CPU the host has? Or did I see that wrong? If that's the case, depending on what else you have running on that host, you might want to run esxtop and check the %Ready values and make sure that host isn't having issues scheduling CPU for it. I say monitor both the host and the VM and see what you get. Also make sure the VM was created with the VMXNET3 NIC, and that VMWare tools is running on the VM.
