Performance issue:Virtual desktop running on Vpshere 4

Hi Champs.

Please help with a perfromance issue:

Setup Background:

We have couple of Microsoft XP virtual machines running on the ESX 4.1 Update 1.

Users of this XP VM sitting outside the organization.

We have given citrix access to users and publishes RDP on to Citrix as a application.

When a user launches the RDP icon on Citrix, he can see RDP Icon and login to XP VM as user is part of remote desktop users of XP machine.

This is how use connects to VM.

Issue:

Users are complaining, when they insert password and when they launch any application inside the Virtual machine.Performance is very slow.

There is lot of latancy in mouse movement and keyboard key responses.

It takes 4-5 seconds for a letter to come if we type a command.

Few things which i just checked.

1. Vmware tools are up to date

2. VM performance (CPU/Memory) are normal.

3. When directly logged into VM through RDP, performance is much better.(Not launched RDP through Citrix)

Please can somebody suggest how to get rid of this problem. Its problem for all users.

Regards,

Abhi

To be honest since you performance is fine when you RDP directly to the VM I am thinking the issue is with the configuration of Citrix Server -
