Performance has deteriorated. I/O Latency - Ongoing

Hi all.

I have been looking into this issue for quite some time now and unable to resolve this.

I am running an ESX/i 5.0 cluster using build 623860. All of my physical hosts are Dell R710's talking to a Dell EqualLogic PS6100XS SAN. The iSCSI network is connected using Dell PowerConnect 7048 switches.

When i first came across this issue i raised it with Dell and VMware to try to resolve the issue but after a long time of investigation and config changes i am still seeing these warnings on a daily basis.

According to Dell my Switches are configured correctly as well as no faults found on my Equallogic SAN. Latency doesn't seem to correlate with IO spikes on my SAN as there is more than adequate resource available.

Most config changes were to done to disable Delay Ack, as well as the recovery timeout on the iSCSI initiator and Disabling TcpipDefLROEnabled.

If anyone could shed some light on this or has resolved the issue please post.

Thanks,

Jamie.
