Patch # ESXi400-VEM-200907001

How do I install patch # ESXi400-VEM-200907001?

When I try it fails. The graphical Vsphere host update utility can't find the METAWARE.XML file, and the CLI fails as well complaining about the version level. I think I'm using the CLI tool incorrectly.

It seems I may have answered my own question (certainly no replies here). Is it true that the CLI has been lobotomized in the free version? That severely cripples ESXi. Is there any other way to configure the vSwitch? I need jumbo frames for basic performance reasons. I can't seem to apply most patches via the graphical host update utility either. Are there alternate means to apply patches without using the now useless CLI?

I use that method for my environment.

Why just the other day I installed the dell openmanage patch using the vima appliance.

Are you using CISCO Nexus switch , this patch should only be used by customers who have that configured in there environment.

Thanks,

Samir
