PUTTY Lost Connection

Hi All,

I am using the ESX4 evaluation copy. I was able to connect the host thru PUTTY. Suddenly, it lost the connectivity. I restarted SSHD and MGMT-VMWARE services also. Even rebooted the host. Still no luck.

Whats wrong with that?

Shan

Do you have a single physical NIC attached at Service Console vSwitch?

Can you ping the host or is it completely off the network? From the ESX host can you ping the default gateway? Is the NIC showing up when you run ifconfig? Anything in the logs?

Thank you guys. I didnt get a chance to answer your replies.

I am running ESX4 on my desktop as a virtual machine in VMWare WorkStation6.5. Unfortunately, I added single NIC only. I am able to ping the ESX either way.

I will look into logs and update you all.

Thanks,

Shan

I found that there was Service Console switch was missing after rebooted the host. I created vSwitch and Service Console thru command line. Now works fine.

Thanks,

Shan
