PERC H700 Integrated + 6x SAS 6Gbps SSD = Non-SSD drive type?

Hi All,

Hopefully something quick and easy ...

I have installed a PERC H700 Integrated into a Dell R815 server and fully populated the 6x disk bays with 400GB SAS 6Gbps SSD drives. I created the virtual disk using the BIOS boot utility (Ctrl + R) but when creating the datastore, it shows these as Non-SSD drive types.

Am I missing a simple configuration or VIB, or should I simply tell the host that these are SSD's;

VMware KB: Enabling the SSD option on SSD based disks/LUNs that are not detected as SSD by default

Thanks,

Jon

I followed the KB article to tag the device as a SSD;
