PERC H310 Controller vSphere Support

Hello,

I am running ESXi 5 Free and have 2 VMs running on this host. We have a PERC H310 Controller with two RAID 0 arrays, a 500GB mirror and a 2TB mirror. The 2TB mirror is degraded and I need to rebuild it. The only reason I know it is degraded is because Dell iDrac shows this under the physical disks. I have 2 questions, 1 is there a way to get vSphere to be able to recognize the controller and disks to show me the heatlh, etc? 2, is there a way for me to rebuild the array through vSphere? What would be your recommendation on rebuilding this array and managing the controller?

Thanks!

Have you installed the Dell openmanage VIB on your host? I think the current version is 7.2.

Like jrmunday said, you can use the Dell OMSA to manage this via a browser, like you would in Windows.

Here is a link to the VIB that you can install into VUM and then push to your host(s).

If you don't have VUM, you can unzip the file and transfer the VIB and install it manually.  Here's a link on how...

Good luck!

Hi thanks, I did install the 7.0 vib on my host but still dont see how to repair the degraded array. How do you access the host's raid from the web?
