Over Provisioned space on datastore

Hi Guys,

We have a issue where some of our Data Stores in our vCenter Manager are Over Provisioned. Is there a way to undo this? When we move vdisks around to empty data stores we get the same problem.

Any Suggestions?

Seems like your environment containing the thin disk format of vms disk. You can fix it via extending the datastore and convert them to thick disk so you can get the better idea and no one can breach the limit for the DS .

Its obvious when people create the disk more than the size of Datastore and its the reason of overprovisioned datastores.

Please move some of the vmdk(thickprovised) to the empty datastore. Use storage vMotion to move the vmdk.

In a future to avoid such kind of scenario. Please do use datastore alarm ffor managing the datastore.
