(Sorry in advance if this is the wrong board -- can't find one for ESXi)
I started upgrades from ESX 7.0.3 to ESXi 8.0.2, and some export scripts stopped working. Two scripts, one bash using ovftool and another PowerCLI script using Export-vApp, work when a guest is running on an ESXi 7 host. vMotion the guest to an ESXi 8 host, and both scripts fail. vMotion the guest back to ESXi 7, and exports work again.
In ESXi 8, running ovftool in debug mode shows that it is getting the wrong path to the storage and the wrong name for the vmdk file, whereas in ESXi 7, things look normal.
When the guest is running in ESXi 8, exports using the web console work successfully.
Is anyone else having any trouble? Any known workarounds?
